Meet Matt Burger

Mitigation Manager, Encore Construction | Water Damage Mitigation | Emergency Restoration Operations & Project Coordination

Matt Burger is the Mitigation Manager at Encore Construction, a family-owned property restoration company serving residential and commercial property owners across Western Washington. His professional focus includes water damage mitigation, emergency restoration operations, technician and crew coordination, restoration estimating, and managing mitigation projects from the initial response through completion.

Matt oversees the day-to-day operations of Encore Construction's water damage mitigation department, coordinating multiple restoration projects while ensuring that technicians, resources, and schedules are organized effectively. His responsibilities include assigning crews to job sites, managing technician schedules, preparing detailed restoration estimates, monitoring project progress, and addressing operational challenges that arise during mitigation work.

He understands that water damage restoration requires both prompt action and careful coordination. When a property experiences water damage, the mitigation process may involve inspecting affected areas, assessing moisture conditions, removing damaged materials when necessary, and implementing structural drying procedures. Matt works closely with field technicians to coordinate these activities, maintain project schedules, and ensure that restoration work progresses according to each property's needs.

Homeowner communication is a central part of Matt's management approach. Property owners experiencing water damage often have questions about the extent of the damage, the work being performed, the expected timeline, and what happens next. Matt prioritizes regular communication and daily project updates to help homeowners understand the progress of their mitigation projects and remain informed throughout the restoration process.

His approach combines operational planning, attention to detail, team coordination, and a commitment to quality workmanship. By maintaining clear communication between technicians and homeowners, monitoring ongoing projects, and responding to unexpected challenges, Matt helps create a more organized restoration experience while supporting Encore Construction's standards for customer service and project execution.

ABOUT ME

Water damage can disrupt a homeowner's life in a matter of minutes. Whether it's a burst pipe, an overflowing appliance, or an unexpected plumbing leak, the situation often comes with a lot of uncertainty. Homeowners want to know how serious the damage is, what needs to happen next, and how long the restoration process will take.

As Mitigation Manager at Encore Construction, my responsibility is to keep our water damage mitigation projects organized and moving forward. I oversee daily operations, coordinate our technicians, manage crew schedules, prepare restoration estimates, and make sure each job receives the attention it needs.

I believe effective mitigation starts with understanding the situation and organizing the right response. Not every water damage project is the same. The affected materials, extent of moisture intrusion, accessibility of damaged areas, and required drying procedures can all influence how the work is planned. My role is to help coordinate the necessary resources and ensure our technicians have a clear understanding of each project's requirements.

Communication with homeowners is one of my biggest priorities. Water damage is stressful enough without having to wonder what's happening inside your own home. I believe homeowners deserve regular updates about the work being performed, the progress we're making, and what they should expect next. That's why daily project updates are an important part of how I manage mitigation work. Whether our technicians are removing affected materials, operating drying equipment, or monitoring moisture conditions, homeowners should have a clear picture of what's happening and how those activities contribute to the restoration process.

At Encore Construction, our mitigation work is often the first major step toward helping homeowners recover from property damage. The decisions made during this stage can influence the repairs and reconstruction that follow, which is why proper coordination, documentation, and communication matter.

My goal is to help homeowners feel informed and supported throughout mitigation, keep our team working efficiently, and ensure every project is managed with care, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
